It was the same with US borders when the date was closer they have announced to the public that it is the final date and they are going with it, it will be the same now. It is highly unlikely that they will extend the ban they need tourists etc. And they need a lot of workers

God knows i want it to happen just the way you said.. only thing is that i dnt trust ircc anymore.. but fingers crossed

From what has been said, it all seems to be tied to the complete international border reopening on Sept 7th. But only time will tell how everything pans out.

According to the documents we’ve seen so far; until the international borders are fully open we wouldn’t see PPRs and COPRs issued in mass; so yeah, we probably have to wait for that time. There was no provision for US-based applicants in those documents

that's fair. Just this week has been really stressful among other weeks. I e been doing a good job waiting and trying not to let the stress get to me but I failed this week, I'm sure all of us feel this way. I haven't ordered gcms yet because I didn't know I could but wondering if I should now or it doesn't matter anymore

I can completely understand the stress. What's your AOR? Ordering GCMS would definitely help to get a detailed status update of your application. If your application is with a Canadian VO, then a call to IRCC would help you get a high level status update as well.

You can raise a webform to find out the VO. The GCMS notes are generally issued in around 30-40 days from the day you apply.

I noticed that even among unvaccinated people, the death rate is much lower than peak pandemic death rates we experienced last year. Although the delta variant seems more transmissible I feel it’s less virulent (ability to cause severe illness/death). In line with the theory that most viruses mutate to weaker forms. Its more like doctors are getting better at treating people and now few options are there for treatment. That Trump treatment is new option. Besides, a lot of a really vulnerable people (oldies and sick folks) are now fully vaccinated and are scared enough to take precaution.

Have to disagree with the last part... In my country and apparently my friend circles in other countries people are much more relaxed. Masks are off; like I've had maintenance guys coming at my place working inside next to me without a mask. Nothing happens. I used to be very paranoid about it but now even I don't care all too much. That should be the attitude; and we should stop counting/announcing cases. The only thing that matters is hospital capacities.

I see old and sick people -- ie those who can get badly sick and die -- they are being more conscious about covid.

Similar situation here in my country. We don’t even have up to 5% of population fully vaccinated, most people don’t wear masks yet the pandemic is almost non-existent lol…We’ve been living normally for months now.

In my country they tried that too.... It was hit with such a severe wave that people had to run from post to pillar to get medicines and oxygen.
