If you legally change your last name, you will have to apply for all legal documents that have you name, which would include the PR card as well and passport.

Thanks for sharing but I am asking about the impacts of yesterday's announcement...

It tells you the state of current COPR holders, how that impacts your application is not made clear directly. Outside of official announcements it's all speculation and you can speculate what suits you. Question of essential work, Depends on your NOC and if you have potential employment in services supporting Covid and other essential functions. I personally would not hang by thread on essential function as outland FSW. Good luck and have some patience and faith in the process.

Hi, Can you please clarify a few things? Does PR applications come under non-essential? or does it come under the category that are going to be allowed from Aug 9th? (apart from US citizens). Basically I'm asking whether FSW O files will be touched or not before September 7th because of this new announcement.

They already processing FSW-O applications, but very slowly. After opening borders in September I assume they will be processing faster. Hope for the best, Best of luck.

Medicals are valid for 1 year.
