@visaforca => You'll receive an email about a week before the oath (sometimes 2 - days before the oath date). You don't have to contact them now IMO.

This isn't true and there is no evidence for this. People start claiming something that is not substantiated as facts and that's when misinformation starts spreading like wildfire.

There is no evidence that anyone who has applied for Citizenship under section5(1) (which would be most of us) has been allowed to take oath outside Canada. Please do not present this option as a fact unless we've seen some actual reports of it. This is how misinformation spreads.

This is what it says on the IRCC website.

You need to be in Canada to take the Oath of Citizenship. If you get your invitation while you’re outside Canada, reply to the invitation email to explain your situation in detail.

In your email

• put “Outside Canada – Oath of Citizenship” in the subject line
• In the body of your message, include
  • your full name
  • your application number
  • a detailed explanation of your situation

We’ll contact you with your next steps after we receive your email.

It doesn't say anywhere you can take oath outside Canada. May be that is an option BUT there is nothing on that page that suggests that and there have been no confirmed reports of this happening either.

So, please do not suggest this again until you know for certain because you've already confused @OliverJ with this misinformation.
