That number is exactly what the agent told you it is. A TEMPORARY application number. You can't use it to link. At most you can use it again while calling IRRC but is as helpful as having nothing. I have seen those for QSW.

Hi Can i visit home country after applying TR to PR?

you can travel if you are 100% sure you can be back in Canada when your PR is near the approval phase. Example - when you receive a PR portal request. with all travel restrictions, delta, delta+, lambda, kappa virus variants (God knows what else) roaming all around the world, you never know when travel to Canada is banned (again). So, it is advised not to travel until you get your Canadian PR card in hand.

Also, I saw that some applicants tried to call IRCC to get an update about their application status, what is the phone number they used to do so?

Check the time stamp of the confirmation email your received when you press submit the application thus should be your timestamp
