There is currently a Bill that is pending final approval in the Senate to change the Oath of Citizenship to:

“I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada including Treaties with Indigenous Peoples, and fulfill my duties as a Canadian citizen.”

Could this be the reason for the delayed oath ceremonies?

Yes, that's valid for everyone between 18 and 55. That's the date you took take your test. Did you take your test yet?

I personally don't believe this is the reason for delayed oath ceremonies. If this receives royal ascent, IRCC will update the website and send out a slightly different version of the oath text to the ceremony clerks - none of this suggests the significant backlog and bottleneck for oath ceremonies that has been present for a few months now.

Hi all, I received an email about the new citizenship tracker. It says in the email that my application (which I submitted in September 2020) was created in their system in December 2020 and that it is currently in progress.

I never received an AOR yet, so I can't create an account to track the progress of my application. I am kinda worried. Anyone else in the same boat?

Call IRCC on Monday morning 8 AM local time and ask them nicely for your application number. They'll give it to you. Have your UCI handy (and other personal details).

Also, I don't see you on the spreadsheet.

Could you please provide your information in the following format so that I can add you to the spreadsheet?

Also, from the new status dashboard, can you please provide the dates of the following :

Background Check "Completed" date

Once you get the application number from IRCC, you can register on the 'new status dashboard' mentioned above and provide the status.

I open my status tracker and also no update since April. What does this mean and why no any update. How do I know the decision??

"Decision Made" after the test means that the application is approved! Congrats!
