It’s temporary file number start with EP

I think EP stands for Economic Program. Express Entry application number starts with EE. The X in front of the temporary file number will be removed once you will get the AOR and you will be able to link your application.

You can check it by calling IRCC, the only answer you will get is that “We can confirm that your application was received on AR date”.

Yes you can submit upfront medical using your temporary file number via webform. I have submitted my Biometric fees receipt using my temporary file number and they confirmed it that they attached it with my application.

Just checked the automated status of my application using the TFN.
Heard a recording "Application received on December 21st. We will inform once we start the processing".

Could you let me know what is EP? I am also awaiting AOR, my AT was in December 2020. Completed 6 months now .. don't know what to do.. have no clarity

When you get your AOR it will have your Application Number, that number starts with EP. If you call IRCC to ask for temporary file number (because you haven’t received AOR), and your application is already in their system, then they will give you your EP######## number with an X at the beginning XEP########.

Nowadays, AOR are taking +8 months. Yesterday I saw end of September applicants getting AOR. In my case it took 8.5 months. You have to be patient, not much that you can do.

Once your application is in process, you may click on Add (link) your application to your account from the welcome page. Once on the Link an existing application to this account page, the information entered must match the data indicated on the form you submitted.

If you experience difficulties linking your application, we invite you to take a look at the list of common issues encountered when linking an application, and their resolutions.

If you are still experiencing difficulties, please write back to us using the IRCC Web form and choose Technical difficulties located in the drop down menu under the heading Enquiry. Also add the following information:
