Honesty it was expected. CAQ lost some of its votes due to some COVID restrictions. There is an election next year. So they are going to do things to make sure they will be reelected. So we are going to hear a lot about immigration, French enforcement and so on.
Agree. Quite logical knowing the pattern of con artists but I was expecting them to silently increase quota coz of pressure from industry lobby. Guess they care more about xenophobes than economy.

Guys, relax.
When we applied to get this PR we already knew that it will take years.
I never had ANY hopes that they will speed up.
And now nothing new happened. They keep their quotas, we still have the same pace.

That’s all.
Yep, and the quotas will increase slightly next year, so there is hope for next year for us.

Deliberately delaying the processing of the already selected applications in the times where federal is trying to find new ways to retain and grant PR to the skilled folks residing in the rest of the Canada. I’m afraid this QC government will eventually come up with the plan to cancel these applications like they did in the case of 18,000 plus CSQs.
I was among those 18000 people. I don't think they are going to cancel CSQs. Some people got their CSQ several days before bill 9 passed. They didn't do that back then and I don't think they would do that in future. Though I'm curious CAQ has the power to cancel issued CSQs? Also we shouldn't forget Quebec is suffering for skilled workers like the rest of Canada.

Because of that I don't think Quebec is a good place for us to settle down for long term. It's not difficult to find people in Quebec who are eager to sacrifice everything for French enforcement. I know this type of extremest. They can ruin a region economically in less than 10-20 years.

I was gonna write the same thing. Once issued, csq can be cancelled only on misrepresentation grounds on specific complaint. It's not gonna happen enmasse at federal stage but processing times would certainly go beyond 30 months. However there would be random cases processed before timeline to keep the hope of masses alive.

I will repeat it, don't forget the federal responsibility in this whole situation. I think that nobody is arguing about how stupid is the Québec policy about their own selected immigrants. But what the federal has done about their part of the process. Why they haven't filled last year's quota? Why are they delaying the process of applications which already have their place in the annual quota. If their problem is the annual quota they should have finalized all the applications the latest first half of the year.
This scheme is their fault too.

My theory is that they play safe. They don't process more than quota but some applications can take more than expected (for example extensive security check). They used to give AOR in 3 months but then they have a lot of ready applications but due to quota they couldn't issue PR so they change the procedure. They don't give you AOR, unless you're part of quota. The drawback is they may not meet the quota. To solve this problem Quebec should issue CSQs according to remaining quota.

Agree. With Arrima Quebec started issuing hordes of csq in 2-3 months time period. They want to create more chaos in Federal, it seems.

I blame Quebec not for quota mostly, but for the mess.
If someone would told me: “You will get your CSQ according to QUOTA, let’s say in 2022, and after that you will get your PR in 6-12 months - OKAY. I will plan my life accordingly then. I will make my life choice according to dates when I will become eligible for CSQ”.
But no, we got CSQ and after that we stuck!

They haven't cancel 18,000 CSQs guys. They cancel 18k application requests for CSQs under Mon Project, it was like a lottery draw to obtain the CSQ.

For the quotas, they are following the same plan they projected in 2019. The problem is the industries and companies want to increase this quota up to 60,000 and the target by the government was and is up to 52,000 for 2022. So please don't worry my friends, keep calm.

Well if you don’t have an AOR in 1 year how can you stay calm? Not having an AOR means your process is not yet started, no guarantee of your file completeness and you are at the same submission stage even after 1 year of submission. You can’t plan anything but stuck and thinking all the time about any miracle to happen. So basically we’re all in limbo until at least receive an AOR.

Someone got their file returned even after AOR in March this year. Stress is understandable but it solves nothing unfortunately.

Getting AOR simply does not solve anything. I have AOR for 815 days.

When people gets their AOR, they start to wait Pre-arrival letter, then they wait for medicals, DM, COPR, and so on.
Even people wait 4 months for PR card.

People think that everything will be over when they move forward to the next step but it is simply just another waiting period.

Besides, IRCC has already announced that even there is a problem in the initial application file, they will not revert those applications back.
IRCC will only ask for new/updated documents. This may increase processing time of your file but your application won't get cancelled.
If you are worried about increase in processing time of your file because of missing/wrong documents, you would have checked your application deck 10 times before sending it - esp. for an important file that effects all your future life.

You are right, I know it’s a horrible lengthy process but AOR gives you a sigh of relief and you can plan things accordingly while waiting for the other steps to come.
Good luck!
