Just wanted to chime into this thread! My background status is in progress for the last two weeks! In progress as in `We are processing your background check, we will let you know if we need more info`. AOR early Feb'21

What's your time line including the changes in BG

@casualgamer also had the same background check status and it changed to we are processing. I found many people whose background check status is updated to in progress.

Hey @casualgamer , do you know when your Background Check status changed from “We are processing…” into “Your application is in progress… “? (i.e. the initial status change after MEP)

I still don't understand why only few people gets this background check status and others don't. It can be because how our officer is handling file and this status really doesn't matter if he is working in the background. I saw many people who has the same background check status

Please share more details if any of you get to know after getting GCMS notes. Please also let us know if you get another background check update or COPR I hope everyone will get COPR before June ending.

My profile updated and the status is changed to "your application is in processing. My biometric, Medical exam are all passed.

AOR Feb 12
Meds passed March 1
Bio same day
The BG has stayed `we are processing your background check......` till March 11
Received my RPRF fee request on March 11
From March 11 - May 3 BG has stayed the same i.e., `your application is in progress.....`
Bg status chnaged again to `we are processing your background check....` on May3

Did you call ircc to verify on what stages have been completed ?

Medical - Passed
Criminality - Passed
Info sharing - In progress
Security - Not Started
Eligibility - being reviewed

You can use the call back option. It will ask if you don't want to wait and want to request call back then you can just press 1

I did that today and got the updates!

You may get COPR before getting GCMS notes as your background check status already changed from your application is in progress to we are processing. Do you know how long it took to change it back to We are processing? I really appreciate your help!

I was hoping for some progress but the call with IRCC agent today dented my hope. It took two months approx for change in BG status. Hope it helps

Now, its getting really difficult to infer anything. every one has different stages completed with same BG status. It really makes worrying now, since i have been reading posts people stuck with BG.

it becomes recommended passed by analyst and it becomes passed when offices review and clears it.
