Hey everyone, i had a very confused update yesterday in my account about the background check
my background check status used to be : We are processing your background check , we will send you a message if we need more information
And yesterday it changed to : Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check

it feels like a step backward ?
i know it used to be the false IP2 to real IP1 but i dont know if this theory still apply to how IRCC process the applications now.
Anyone who have experienced the same situation please join this thread.

True. But, does BG status changes to Real IP1 for inland applicants ? The thread says, cec inland won't see that status change.

IP1 and IP2, etc, are not official stages, and vary for applicants, so i wouldn't put any stock into trying to determine which of those terms applies in your case. With COVID, all of IRCC's processing orders are messed up anyway.

Same thing happened to me! My AOR is March 18 CEC in land! I got an update today and after the update my background check changed back to: our application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check. Then I called IRCC and they told me they are working on your file! They previously told me that criminality has been passed but when I asked she said they will update it soon! She also mentioned that the security is not started yet! Very confusing!

Hmm. Did they say anything on eligibility ? Since, if it changed today may be eligibility would have been passed. But am not sure. Man, these updates are toooo vague to understand.

Is your case very simple? my case is very simple, one job, single no dependent, maybe its a good sign they are prioritizing simple cases ?

Hi there, Mine is very simple! CEC inland, one Canadian on (University), single no dependant and Canadian degree! Maybe that's the reason!

Mine is also one Canadian University Degree, with extreme minimum travel history, i would say my case is one of the simplest applications.
