Hi,
Does anyone know can the online test be taken outside Canada? Has anyone done that here?
I am planning to move back to my home country this year (citizenship application submitted on January 2021, paper version) and in my understanding the applicant can leave the country after. Because of covid everything is now online, so does it matter if I take the test or oath in the future in Europe or do I have to travel to Canada for them? I just don't see reason why would I need to be here for them due to covid.

You can leave the country during that time, your test invite is a long way off yet and you should expect that in-person test centers will resume by then.
Also be aware that as presence in Canada is a requirement, it's likely any attempt access the test from an IP address that's not located in Canada will be blocked and proxies will be blocked for the same reason.
One more question please in this subject can we navigate between the question without answering current one like I skip current question and proceed to next once answered next went back to answer the previous one kindly throw some light

Yes absolutely, if you are not sure of an answer you can flag it and return to any flagged questions at the end, but beware that the test will end and your results will be submitted when the 30 minutes is up whether you have finished or not. But honestly, 30 minutes is more than enough time if you have studied the Discover Canada booklet.
When receiving an online knowledge test invite, and then pass the test with an unofficial result email, is this an indication the process to be granted citizenship is near complete?
Are there cases where taking the test (online or in person) was not close enough to the finial stage at all, and other events have taken place in between?
Look, it may or may not...In my case for example, I took the test on March 15th. I had the interview before on January.
What is working for me everytime, is sending a web form to ask about the process. Normally I wait some time and I received some kind of update. I did that in January and received the interview request, I waited for 4 weeks and send another one. I received the Test invite, I waited 2 weeks after my test window closed and my status changed to DM.
Now I need to wait to receive the Oath invite, hopefully it will take a month or so.
The reality is depends on so many variables that is impossible to have an idea, for us and even for them.
You should be getting and interview request in the next month or so; normally after the interview, you should get a status change to DM. In my particular case, we had the interview before for some misplaced papers. Wait a couple of weeks after your test window closes. That's the best recommendation to do.
But, in the other hand, be patient. You are one step closer, probably two or three months away from your citizenship!!
I just passed my test, I just want to note one issue I had was taking my photo of my photo ID, I just could not get a clean crisp photo no matter how I tried. I submitted the best version I could but it was tricky. Something to look out for and I'm hoping they don't delay my application because of it. It was also harder to get centered then the actual test lol
EDIT: check your web cam quality first on closeup images just in case, as mine did not take a particularly clear image
