New Immigration Streams

Canada has announced new immigration streams on April 14th. see this link. Can someone help me to find the necessary documents to fill in?

I was wondering if we need post grad work permit, or needed to be a fulltime student during the course of my studies. I don't have a pgwp nor was I a fulltime student , but i do have a canadian bachelors degree and employed currently on work permit. Do I qualify for this stream?

Ready the link. According to the outline it is for graduates and temporary workers (doesn’t specifics PGWP) so if your NOC is stated, you may be eligible.

Thank you! that helps a lot. By noc do you mean the ones mentioned in annex A. I thought that clause was not mandatory for degree holders as per bullet point one in part b. I was confused too actually. I read it again and it sounds like you may be right.

It says,

To be eligible, workers must have at least 1 year of Canadian work experience in a health-care profession or another pre-approved essential occupation. International graduates must have completed an eligible Canadian post-secondary program within the last 4 years, and no earlier than January 2017.

So to me it reads as separate. Canadian graduates don’t need to be in one fo the NOCs. Could be wrong.

Sounds about right! Canadian graduates don't have to be in those specific NOCs or have 1 year experience too.

If you have an ITA, how will this be any faster when the application process hasn't even been publicized.

According to the new release policy, it is lesser paperwork to submit than CEC means a lesser verifications process for IRCC, so I assume it would be a faster process (Earlier this month IRCC emailed me and say processing time bar 6 months is not guaranteed and could be delayed. When I check the website they are finalizing application from May 24 to May 30, 2020, now). This also means that it takes them 10-12 months.

Less paperwork doesn’t mean less verifications required. The new public policies only state that these streams will benefit from priority processing. They haven’t specified the average processing times for them... cos they literally haven’t started.

From what I understood, the international graduates should have a canadian degree and working in Canada (not necessarily for 1 year) and not necessarily in the "essential health workers" NOC.

For international graduates stream, do you have to be on PGWP?

Not necessarily, it could be the PGWP extension or a regular work permit, as long as you have any authorization to work in Canada it'll work.

I’m about to graduate this month, so I still need to apply for my Pgwp once I receive my letter of completion. Since students are authorized to work 20 hours a week (and I’ currently employed at a retail store), I’m hoping this would satisfy this requirement.

I did a one-year program after 2017 and currently work a tech job that is not in the lists of Annex A or B.

Am I eligible under this public policy? IRCC's wording is freaking confusing which can be interpreted in different ways.

Meanwhile, I submitted my paper-based application back in late August of 2020 without receiving AOR. The Sydney office has been slow.
I don't mind having 2 applications (don't care about another set of fees). (Which one will be faster?)

Have been granted one of the following credentials, following the completion of a program study from an eligible institution as defined in a):
a degree (Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate) which must be a degree issued on completion of a program of at least 8 months in duration;
a degree, diploma, certificate, or attestation issued on completion of a program of any duration leading to an occupation in a skilled trade (listed in Annex A); or
one or more diploma/certificate/attestation where the following conditions are met:
For diplomas/certificates/attestations, each program of study must be at least 8 months in duration and the combined length of the credential(s) must be equivalent to a two-year credential (at least 16 months in duration).
For the DVS and AVS, each program of study must be at least 900 hours in duration and the combined program of study must be at least 1,800 hours in duration.
When combining one AVS with one DVS, the length of the AVS may be less than 900 hours if the combined length is at least 1,800 hours.

Is a 1 yr diploma enough? or you need a 2 yr credential ( two 8 month programs are okay)?
