Hi Guys!

I have applied for the open work permit under the new policy on March 17th and I got a refusal on April 1st.

I believe they denied my application because I didn't include the letter informing that I was applying for OWP under the new policy.

Anyway, my WP expires on June, 24th, 2021, and I will apply again; however, I am self-employed and my wife is with me, on a visitor visa. Is there anyone in this scenario and got approved?

Approved today for 18 months

I heard they refund the fees for this. Is it true> My PGWP expires July 17, 2021 so thinking of applying while I wait for PR. Is there anything specific I have to do when applying?

This is what the page says.
For this application, you’ll need to pay the

• work permit fee
• open work permit fee
  • You’ll be asked to pay this fee up front, but you’ll be automatically refunded once your application is being processed.
• fee to restore your status in Canada if your temporary resident status has expired more than 90 days ago
  • Find out how to restore your status as a temporary resident in Canada.

What did you put for Section 3 in the imm5710 form? The one that asks what you are applying for. Is it same employer or new employer? Since its an open permit does it matter?

I have a question about temporary work permit while processing.
My PGWP expired in september 2020 and I have applied for visitor visa and it's still pending. I submitted the application for PGWP extension on Feb 10th and I heard that people get temporary work permit while they're waiting. Do you guys think I will also get temporary work permit while processing or do I have to wait until application approved? I got job offer and they want me to work as soon as possible, I'm worried that I could miss this chance.

When you complete question 7 of the application form

• Under “Status”, select Other
• Under Other, type in “Requires restoration”
• Leave the “From” and “To” boxes blank.

Yes, you can apply under public policy as long as U meet all the five requirements mentioned.
