Hi Everyone,

could you please help me understand how much time someone would have after receiving COPR to actually move to Canada?

I read that it should be before the medical expires but ours would expire in September and due to personal reasons we wouldn’t be able to travel until October so wondering how this may work if we do, hopefully, receive COPR by September even. Would we need to move immediately prior to medical expiration?

ADR: Dec 2nd RCMP Criminal Record Check from spouse only
RCMP submitted: Dec 21st

It could be just my impression, but I also do feel that having dependents slow down the process. My friend is single and got his within the 5 months mark and we applied together.

Well they wold have double the work to do on criminality and security so it makes sense

Looks like lot of waiting and no idea how some are getting COPR quickly than others... I am in the same boat in fact I have few changes coming.

Moved to Canada: JAN-2019

Express Entry Profile created: AUG-2020

Received ITA: SEP 2020

AOR: 15-OCT-2020

REQ FOR FAMILY INFO: 23-OCT-2020/Completed on 30-OCT-2020

BIOMETRICS DONE: 30-NOV-2020 (updated online status)

MEDICALS CLEARED: 01-DEC-2020 (updated in the online status too)

CALLED IRCC: 30-MAR-2021: Status: Background Check is in Process (all other steps completed)

Security: Not started
Criminality: In progress
Info sharing: In progress

Hope I get COPR within a month or two
