My wife is an April 2019 Vancouver applicant and had her in-person test scheduled for April 2020 and it was, of course, canceled like all the others. Her case is not urgent.
She received her online test invite a few days ago and has a window from April 5-25.

Preferred to returned back and you should also have to comprise with $2000, hotel quarante as well as PCR testing. And once your are quarantine at home, you can be sit for the test/interview.

you mean the original docs that you submitted with the application and passports. How long did the interview last for ? your comments would be really helpful. Thanks
Well, let's see. How about your leaving the country doesn't bother IRCC? You did so voluntarily and at your own risk, pre or post pandemic. No one is going to refuse you flying back, totally legit. Anything and everything that accompanies it is kind of in your court. Good luck on the consulate idea... You might as well fly the Canadian flag if that helps. Don't want to be ridiculous, but hey I didn't start that

BTW, you don't have to pay for the hotel as per many travelers returning. You don't have to buy a service involuntarily. As reported you can say that you aren't against self-quarantine, but don't have the extra means to pay for it. Canada, i.e. tax-payers would have to pay for it. Haven't tried that, but that's what I'm reading on social media... weird times, weird measures...

I'd request an UP, fly in and stay in Canada for a couple of months to get through to the end of the process. Will cost you some $$, but at the end of the day not that much. If IRCC gives you thumbs up on the consulate, I'll be happy for you, don't get me wrong, but something tells me they won't.
WE PASSED THE INTERVIEW! The officer told us our applications are approved and citizenship is granted. She told us we need to wait for at least 4 weeks before getting the oath invitation.

You can't just say you can't afford the quarantine hotel and be excused from paying. Some investigation into where you work, how you were able to afford to fly to Canada, etc. will be done.

YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO INVOLUNTARILY BUY GOODS OR SERVICES, that's the main idea. Again, don't quote me on that. Browse social media. I didn't do that, but there are peeps who say they did

I am watching this thread with interest. Hopefully your wife can travel to Canada and give a test in legit way.
If quarantine is onerous, it is high time you let IRCC know that you cant make to Canada (by doing so you would do a favor to some applicant based in Canada and can attempt the test in legit way).
