I have absolutely no idea These subtle differences are so confusing... It's driving me crazy

This is what it says on this link.

From 31 Dec 2018, everyone except for Inland candidates has to provide their biometrics which means the default starting stage applicants will see for their Background Check is ‘IP2’ (“We are processing your background check…”), however, this is a ‘False IP2’, meaning an IP2 that has appeared before it is actually due as the application has not in fact progressed to the IP2 stage yet.

I have a question about RCMP.

I've noticed people are being asked for them. I haven't got that far in the process, but would it worth trying to get it done now?

Also how does getting the RCMP check work? All I can see from the website is that you need to get your fingerprints done at a nearby station or third-party centre? Is that it or do you need to pass any data on for an actual certificate like PCs outside of Canada.

Hi, hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to share some update:

I went to the Vancouver Police Department station last Friday (19th March) and gave my fingerprints which will be directly submitted to the RCMP for my criminal check. The officer who took my fingerprints said that it will take about 2 weeks for me to receive the letter from RCMP, after which I will upload it to my CIC account.
