Some good news at last. My and my wife’s BOWP got approved yesterday amd extended for one more year. It was quick.

I applied for BOWP, SOWP and visitor record extension for my 2 kids on February 24th. Still waiting for an answer. I can see that others are getting approvals much faster these days. Anyone like me still waiting?

Thanks. When seeing all those fast processing lately, I thought something may be wrong with my application. When does your current permit expire? Mine is valid until May 5th so there is no rush, maybe that's why they haven't done it yet...

I also applied on the 24th (I am the only applicant) and haven‘t heard anything yet. I‘m hoping to get it this week, currently on a closed WP and can‘t wait to finally have an open WP again.

Thanks. When seeing all those fast processing lately, I thought something may be wrong with my application. When does your current permit expire? Mine is valid until May 5th so there is no rush, maybe that's why they haven't done it yet...

Mine expires on June 17.

Hey @mstefan! Do you know if an applicant can extend the Open work permit under new public policy i.e., 18 month extension while the Permanent residence application is in progress? Or Is it just has to be the normal BOWP?

Hey, check here The new public policy seems to be only for valid PGWP holders and those whose PGWP expired on or after JAN 30 2021. Are you on PGWP right now that is expiring in less than 4 months? Or did your PGWP expire on or after JAN 30 2021 and you remained legally in Canada?

Thanks for your reply @mstefan ..Neither!.My current open work permit expires late september this year, so it falls under the 4 months timeframe based on program end date i.e., july 27 and my permanent residence application is in progress! So I was wondering if I can normally go for BOWP or apply under the new federal public policy if necessary

I am also on closed work permit. Can we do 2 jobs after getting BOWP ?
