I've just got and email requesting my fingerprints
FEB 2020 Applicant.
Is it normal? What are the reasons?

Yes, it's totally normal. An applicant can potentially receive an FP request anytime between the In Process Stage and the Decision Made Stage.

Some potential reasons why one may get an FP Request:
- Common Name
- 5+ years since last fingerprints
- Random draw e.g. QA testing
- Name matches a criminal
- Other profile matches a criminal e.g. height, eye color etc.
- Certain countries may be emphasized

Exactly. They also requested my FP when I was applying for PR. I thought I wouldn't need it again, but I've read somewhere that they don't keep the FP.

True! I have seen so many finger print requests this year not sure why.
FP was requested for few in past compared to this year IMO.

IRCC is just trying to buy extra time and tag applications as non-routine which mean that they are not bound with any timeline for applicants.

The most stupid thing that is happening is that little kids and students everywhere are forced to go to school despite COVID issues yet the govt employees just want to get free taxpayers money labeled as SALARY while absolutely not doing anything and on top of that also collecting COVID benefits from GOVT as well !!!

Just heard back from my MP inquiry, looks like they are still working on criminality verification, immigration verification not started, oh well at least I am not holding my breath, I will be waiting for another year, sigh

Finally it's getting close for us. My wife took the online test after a week. I took an extra week and its worth the extra effort.
I beat her by one point.... (19/20)
My finger printing was completed last week. None needed for my wife. Now it is the waiting game...

Hi Everyone,
So after I received the fp request two days ago, I booked an appointment with an agency to get it done, but are they supposed to directly send it to CIC or RCMP? On the online form that the fp agency provided, it asks me to input the address where the fp certificate is to be sent. In this case, should I input CIC address, RCMP or my home address? Could someone advise?
