Parents want to emigrate to Alberta

Hi everyone. First off I used this site to gain amazing information for my PR which I received 4 years ago. Well I am back
My parents are in their early 60s my dad will retire in 3 years time. My mom still has another 6 -7 years before retirement. They both currently living in the UK. They both are desperately wanting to live near my brother and I and their you grandchildren all here living in Canada. I know of the parent/grandparents sponsorship but it's a lottery and I will apply but that may never happen. Is there a way my mom could apply to work here? Is she too old? She wants to work ? She has no intentions of retiring any time soon. Any advice would be appreciated. I am feeling lost without my parents

Economic immigration is points based, with significant points awarded for age. At 60, it’s highly unlikely they would make the cut. Try for a super visa. It allows visits of 2 years.

That's what I thought. We also know of the super visa but they want to live here. They don't want to have to travel back and forth. Could they potentially live here on that visa but leave every 2 years ?

Eventually CBSA might not appreciate them spending all there time here. Unless they are PRs or have a valid WP/ SV, they are visitors. They aren’t permitted to “live” in Canada. Keep in mind the cost of medical coverage with what you are proposing.

Economic immigration is points based but if she get the job offer in Canada then definitely they can break the barrier of CRS points and get permanent resident status. Or this year PGP lucky draw will be for 30K which is always to try. If visit on Super Visa for 2 years always extension is the option subject to visa/passport expiry.

I saw that it was 30k. We will absolutely try. Do you know roughly when this will happen? Maybe we will get lucky

It will work if she can get a job offer from an employer in Canada and that employer can get an approved LMIA. That will be the tricky part. The job should be NOC A, B or 0 (i.e. skilled job) in order for your father to be able to accompany her.

Note that as part of the LMIA process, the employer must advertise the job for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. They must then submit the LMIA application itself which generally takes 4-6 months to process. Approval is not guaranteed and the LMIA may be refused if the employer should have reasonably been able to find someone already in Canada to hire. The vast majority of employers aren't willing to go through this process due to the expense and time involved. Good luck.

Then I would look for jobs in that field. Make sure it's a NOC A, B or 0 skill level role. Also make sure the employer is aware that they will need to go through the LMIA process.
