Online single (normal) application in DEC 2020 and received test invite in FEB 2021... that's some thing unbelievable.
Read this today in FB group...
DO you guy think this is really happening ??????

What did they get in Dec 2020? This is pretty unclear

I think it is fake. Seems unusual that they will randomize the entire 2020 year like this.

No it’s not fake. Applicants who applied online for citizenship in December 2020 are getting test invites after just 2 weeks of AOR. IRCC introduced online citizenship applications in December 2020 for limited applicants.

Guys I just got this Ecas status update but didn't received any email.

"We sent you correspondence on February 23, 2021. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required".

What I assume it's a fingerprint request, Any advice how long it will take to get test invite after fingerprint? I'm located in Toronto.
Also can any one guide me the how to and where to go for fingerprints?

No it’s not fake. Applicants who applied online for citizenship in December 2020 are getting test invites after just 2 weeks of AOR. IRCC introduced online citizenship applications in December 2020 for limited applicants.

This still makes no sense. Even prior to the pandemic you wouldn't get an invite for the test 2 months after applying for your citizenship. Do you have a link or a source or anything?

Same happened when express entry was introduced 5 years ago. Paper applications were taking two years to process but Express Entry PR applications were processed within 6 months.

Apologies. This is some new way of applying then? Maybe they are just being tested out and they are very fortunate as it doesn't really seem fair if people who applied in 2019 are still waiting and people who applied only a few months ago are well ahead

Same here still no email, it's been 2 days since Ecas status update, not sure what to do next.

I checked the December 2020 thread and it looks like people are getting invites. Man, I should have just waited for the online application process instead of applying on paper. IRCC is so annoying.

AOR: August 5, 2020
In Process: October 19, 2020
Invitation letter: Feb 19, 2021
online test: Feb 25, 2021

online test was quite an easy and simple process.
just a little bit annoying to take a picture ID card and self-photo.
