You need to be very quick and do all this before the decision made step.
After applying for permanent residence under the Economic class - Adding a family member
If you are the principal applicant of a permanent residence application already in process, you could add your spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children to your application, even if they were listed as a non-accompanying dependant in the initial application.
To do so, we invite you to send your add-on request through the IRCC webform available on our website. You can attach the following forms and documents in the field reserved to that effect:
If you need information to fill out the forms, please consult the Fill out the forms section of the instruction guide found in the application kit that you have initially used to apply.
If the newly eligible family member is a spouse, common-law partner or dependent child who is already a permanent resident or Canadian citizen, only a copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship and a letter of explanation are required.
It may be impossible to add a member of your family to the application if a final decision has already been made.
We hope you will find this information helpful.
Your add-on request will be evaluated by the responsible office. You will be contacted when a decision will be made or if further information is required.
To convert your PGWP to closed work permit or to extend your Closed work permit, don't forget you should submit your application at least 1 month before the expiry date of your status. This is the Rule.
If you are in Quebec, you can only get closed work permit.
If you fall in new covid policy for PGWP, you can extend your PGWP.
Remember, for closed work permit, you always need an employer. It can be a new employer or the current one you are working with.
With CSQ, you only get exemption from LMIA. It does not mean you get a work permit. Only employer can help you for closed work permit.
It means you employer doesn't need to apply to get a LMIA application for you. Your employer just need to create a LMIA-exempt Offer of employment for you at Employment Portal. It's very simple process (30 min) but it depends on employer they are interested or not. Hope, this info will help you out.
i just extended my work permit by paper but I forget to sign with pen on my application? do i need to resend again all my application? can someone please advise?
After waiting for my PR for 28 months, I contacted my local MP on February 11th 2021, and he told me that all verifications are now completed, and I should hear from IRCC within a month. If I don't he advised that I contact his office again.
Did anybody else have similar experiences with MPs? And if so, did you guys hear back from the IRCC as your MP said you would or is this also just an estimate?

For somebody that hasn't requested the PR or just started it, I definitely agree. But after waiting 26 months, I hope this will be over soon and starting all over again doesn't make much sense. The problem is that we don't receive any timelines we can trust and that makes us stressed but hopeful.. :-(
Very true, after waiting for this long time, we can wait a bit more and see what happens. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, hope we see this light coming soon
If you haven't started your PR paperwork yet and if you don't have a preference for the province of Quebec for some reason, I'd suggest you to take a look at PR programs from other provinces.
I do not mean to demotivate you, but given Quebec is known for suddenly changing laws and affecting people who have already started/submitted their immigration paperwork. Thus, I consider the QC immigration system unstable and I thought it'd only be fair to warn you. That said, good luck with your paperwork.
A person heard from their lawyer that the 2018 applications for QSWP were all made on paper. These papers are in the IRCC office and cannot be accessed by the agents because they are working from home. Many of the applications are being scanned so that agents can evaluate them remotely. This is why things have slowed down.
Hello, we have received our official AR and biometrics request. Our application is for 3 (2 adults and 1 child of 2 years old), however, we received biometrics request for 2 adults only. I would like to know why we did not received the request for our child, i.e. normally biometrics is not required for children, or we missed something in our application. Thank you!
