Hello, everyone!

Just discovered this group and registered.

All the information you guys have shared has been extremely helpful.

My husband and I also applied for the PR through Express Entry with the Provincial Nomination and got caught by Covid right from the start.

We submitted our application back in April 2020, and in June 202 we were asked to send the Mexican Police Certificate and some more documents. Our medical a were marked as passes in June as well.

Back in September we sent our paperwork to the Canadian Embassy and we just confirmed that our Ceriticate got sent to the office reviewing our case in February 9th 2021. And that was all we were missing from our process.

So, do you know how it has been for the approval? We have been living in Canada for two years, and now we are scared that the CPC stream will get all the attention and leave us all behind.

For a while I thought it was because of this extremely long process that the Embassy of Canada does with the FGR, but I have been reading comments in this same forum about people from other countries that are still waiting for around the same time or more.

I appreciate any insight, or information that you might have.

Thank you.

Hello! I received this reply today:

Please note that results of your PC were sent to the IRCC office processing your application on 2021/02/09.

Finally!!! I cannot be happier right now :)

good luck guys !!!
Thank you for letting us all know! I just got confirmation that mine were sent as well on February 9th.

I am an inland applicant through Express Netry with Provincial Nomination. Submitted my application back in April 2020 and had my medical a pases on June.

Have been waiting forever, and now I am worried CEC will get agents’ all attention.

I thought the delay had to do with my Mexican Police Cerificate, but seems like people from other countries are still not getting any news.

Id appreciate your feedback or any insights about how this could help us in the near future.

Thank you

I’m glad they finally were worked on! Have you seen any updates since then? Or do you how long it takes for them to put it up in their system? I submitted my application back in April 2020, and I have friends from different countries that already got their COPR because they were not as delayed as us

No updates yet. I don't know how long it takes for them to put it in the system, but I hope soon. The medicals for our application will expire in early March and I think the only thing that was missing was the PCC. I will keep you all posted but for sake of your sanity I would say just get comfortable and assume it will take a while.

Hi all

I have been invited to apply few weeks ago.
Regarding the police certificate, I am following the steps in this link:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/mexico.html

There are 5 things I have to submit to the embassy. I already have the first four bullets, but I have a question in the last one:

The following information about your file:
  • your file number
  • the name of the visa office, Canadian embassy or consulate or case processing centre where your file is being processed

Im doing everything online. Where I can get the file number from and the name of the visa office or consulate?

I will really appreciate any information.

Thanks.

Because you are saying you are invited to apply, I assume you are Express Entry? I am not sure how that works now, but I believe you need to apply first and then you will get your application/file number, which you will use to ask for the Police Cert.

Yes, I received the invitation and then now, in the government portal they are asking me for the Police certificate, along with the Passport, Financial Profile, medical test, etc...

So I do not have a file number.

Yeah, technically you shouldn't be forced to submit your Police Cert yet (their own instructions say "You don’t need to provide a police certificate with your application. We’ll send you a letter requesting a police certificate after you send your application for permanent residence or citizenship.") because you need the file number and you obviously don't have it if you haven't applied.

Still, I know the online system doesn't care and if it's there as mandatory, it won't allow you to proceed without uploading something. As my application is not EE, I cannot give you solid advise. If no one else offers it here, I would say go and search in the other forums, such as: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/mexico-police-certificate.694708/

Good luck.

Hi all,

Is it faster to request the certificate from Mexico? My common-law partner has family and friends in Mexico.

Thank you

Hi,
For file number and visa office or consulate details, you will have to simply attach the PCC request letter from IRCC that is enough. Thanks!

Below is the information you can find in the PCC request letter from IRCC:
