Hello folks, I have a question regarding the process of my application. I contacted CIC on Jan 16 and the status of my application is medical, eligibility, and criminality passed, security not started. I contacted them again today and my status is the same. Why has my security not started yet even everything is passed and over a month has passed? Thank you.

Hey everyone, I received a response today to tell me my application has been transferred to Pretoria LVO, and that it is pending review by an officer. Does anyone have an idea as to what this review entails, or is it nothing to worry about?

I did order notes beginning of Feb from GCMSorder.com, however, I have had to apply for a Paypal refund due them not contacting me for my information after payment, and their website has disappeared, so I will reorder new notes today from the recommended site.

Hi Everyone,

Given the frustration and anxiety that the slower-than-usual processing tends to generate, I was thinking it would be good to try to see the positive sides of the delays (that is, of course, provided your current situation is confortable).

At 47, I am an "old candidate", so believe me when I tell you that I am also anxious that things move along, but in the meanwhile my wife and I see it as an opportunity to save more before landing. And my wife is also taking advantage of the extra time to improve her English skills and prepare her career switch.

Anybody else has tried to put a positive spin on the situation ?

I Understand your point.. and its a valid point indeed. But there people who had planned a lot, like doctors have to give medical council exams before they could practice or get into a residency program and its all being delayed because they cant land there. Everyone has their story , but I really do get your point sir. its good to see the sunny side every once in a while

There are a lot of people in the same boat with Eligibility & Criminality passed but Security not started. People as back as September and even August are waiting for Security to start. Our turn will come when all these people have gone through Security, god knows when that will be

what does Security check do, what's the difference between it and criminality?

I believe criminality is local background check
Security is international background check depending on applicant's travel

These days you may be better off requesting the Gcms Notes from CBSA see https://bit.ly/34nuJPu

It's the same process as requesting from IRCC and the same cost as well, just the consent form is different
