I applied in February 2020, received first Aip on 7th September and Second on 19th January. My medical expired in december but they updated on 4th Feb and also send me Bvl on the same date.
Seeing the general trend of receiving AIP in the month of January and then BVL in February, I'm positive that your study permit application has been approved. I wouldn't bet on it, but I'm positive that you'll receive a Original Passport Request letter soon.

My medicals were also expired. But they passed it anyway. And still sent me a medical re do request a week later. I re did and now showing passed as of 13 Jan. Only difference is I don't have BVL YET. So maybe u will get ur final decision soon.

They don't send medical passed letter. It automatically gets updated in GC key. I took upfront medicals long before I applied. December 14 2019. It updated to passed status in 29 December 2020. Way beyond the expiry date. And then on 5 Jan 21 I received an email from IRCC stating you have a message in ur GC key. I was so hopeful that since my medical is updated now and already did my biometrics this must be a BVL or something. But it turned out to be medical request.
I hope so too. In one of those webinars IRCC, they informed that they automatically give extensions to applicants with expired medicals. So I hope u get ur final answer.
