I am just afraid that IRCC might cancel all pending application due to high number of backlogs. We are December 2019 AOR, and it has been more than a year now with no progress. @legalfalcon are there any chances that IRCC cancel pending applications?

IRCC cannot cancel applications that easily. A law has to be passed for this in the Parliament, and the backlogs are not that high to trigger a cancellation.
Last time it happened was when there were applications pending for over 5 years, and over a few hundred thousand.
So do not be concerned on this front. Things will start getting better as soon as the vaccines show effect, and stay at home orders are lifted.
Hello everyone.
My AOR is Dec 2019. I received GCMS notes of Dec 2020 and saw an update of December 15 stated: "medical reassessment has been granted". In my GCkey, I got an update about a medical extension on January 14, 2020. As far I know the medical extension is for 6 months.
I was eagerly waiting for PPR after getting the medical extension. It has been weeks, but I didn't get any updates later.
Did anyone get a medical extension? What could be the possible reason for a medical extension if they're not planning to give PPR?

I see. I was really hopeful after getting the extension since some people got PPR after extension. I guess we should not expect anything right now.
I hope you get PPR soon.

I know people who had Medical extended till April and got PPR in November. So, I don't think we can say anything in general about this.
Even in myimmitracker, you can see different outland applicants getting PPR on regular basis.
Best wishes to you. Hope you get your PPR soon. Let's pray and hope.

Just checked. Not really. The last person who got PPR from India was on December 22nd.
I'm from Bangladesh. It can be a possibility that they are not giving PPR in this region.
In Canada, the Covid situation is not that good, and they're imposing more strict laws every now and then. It can be a possible reason that they have limited the outland applicant PPR.
Let's hope for the best.
