Hope you're well. I applied in December for winter 2021. In January 13th, upfront medical test was passed. Since then no update. I already requested a defer for the next intake. It is my 2nd application. Previous application was refused where I received final decision after 3 days of upfront medical pass. Does updating medical pass means they started reviewing my profile or they are in the last step to make final decision?

It's normal processing so it's hard to conclude got to wait for a while to be sure of it. Refusals usually follow fast after BVL/Medical update.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have applied for Winter 2021. As i didn't receive final decision yeat so I have requested a defer. My offer letter was valid till 7th January. When I got medical status update my offer letter's validity was over. So I have informed to ircc via webform that I have requested a defer. I will send them updated letter of acceptance when i will receive it from university. Is it a reason for delaying?

Hello Sir, Hope you are well. Today my eligibility review is started in gc key. What does it means? are they just started reviewing my documents or they are in the last stage ? I got medical pass at 13th January.

Good day, Eligiblity is initial, checking whether you meet the eligibility requirements for the visa under the IRPA. Can take 30 to 45 days after the medical update for the final decision.

@Ironclad i just spoke with IRCC today, and according to him, my application has passed medical and criminality, but in my GC key eligibility hasn’t started. All he said was, my application is in progress and would take some time for Ottawa to give final decisions.
what do you think, would it be a rejection or acceptance, anything out of ordinary that signifies?

Does this mean I have passed 2nd stage ?
If you didn't receive an AIP your file will be done under normal processing. Officer will review before giving decision only eligibility is pending.

I did not receive an AIP, since I filed my application after 15th of September 2020, any idea how long it might take them to review ?

Sometimes they forget to update the status in GCkey, cannot know for sure if review was started on not without GCMS.
