CV was requested mid-august (6 months after my AoR).
Did you order GCMS notes or send a webform since you got the request? Do you know if getting the CV request means the eligibility is conclusively passed by a case officer, or just by an analyst?
I called them. My eligibility was passed (conclusively), yes. Security started less than two weeks after CV and student form was uploaded. You can raise a webform and inquire about different parts of your application (eligibility, medical, security, etc).
Yes, they ask for it for security screening after eligibility is passed. But they don't ask everyone. I've been told they ask people with masters and PhD degrees in sciences.

Oh no, very few people are unlucky enough to be asked for their CV for security screening at a similar time into the process that many others are receiving approvals.
Yes, most people don't get asked for this. I'm not sure what metric they use, I'm just trying to find out how long this process is gonna drag after this CV request.
My medicals are about to expire soon. I am FSW inland applicant. I wanted to know what process does IRCC follow for granting medicals extension. Could some senior members like @legalfalcon shed some light on this. For which cases do they grant extension and for which cases they ask for remedicals. Thanks in advance.

Extending meds is at the discretion of the Health Branch of IRCC. When your meds have expired or are about to expire, IRCC will send them for reassessment to the regional medical officer, who makes a determination on whether to extend them or ask for remeds.
If your application is in progress and your likelihood of landing in Canada is slim in the next 6 months, then IRCC will ask for re-med. Also, your initial medical code will be a factor.
