Wow, IRCC is speeding up things, prolly coz they're gonna get slammed with more apps as December ending students will be applying soon.

Congratulations Neil Great to see your application got processed so quick and IRCC is getting the backlog cleared so fast.

Though I'm really sad about so many applications done months ago who have not received any response yet hope everyone gets a response as soon as possible and I also feel that IRCC needs a better system to process their applications.

The Immigration minister of Canada Marco Medicino recently announced to build a better system and I hope this is implemented soon

In case anyone else applied from outside Canada, here's an update on my application:
Applied on July 7th
Received an application update on December 17th to get medical done
Got medical check-up done on December 18th
Medical check-up approved on December 30th
Now the status is back to reviewing and processing eligibility requirements

Anyone from India who applied for PGWP in Canada have a condition saying you can't work in health services fields?

I didn't take an immigration medical exam and I'm worried I'll have that condition.

You should have answered yes when it asks if you want to work in medical field.

Well I got this job after I applied for WP. health care isn't even my field but luckily found something in medical research. If for some reason my work permit doesn't have that condition explicitly mentioned, would I be eligible to work in healthcare?

You will be eligible for working in Healthcare with PGWP. Its an open work permit. One of the reasons they ask if you want to work in healthcare is, they process health care work permits on priority basis and you will get the work permit faster than regular applications.

That's not true,
Medicals are required if you choose yes to that.
And they are put there for a reason, not for faster processing.




Jobs for which you need a medical exam
You may need a medical exam because of the type of job you want to do in Canada.

Examples of such jobs are:

1. Jobs that bring you into close contact with people, such as:
   • workers in the health sciences field
   • clinical laboratory workers
   • patient attendants in nursing and geriatric homes
   • medical students admitted to Canada to attend university
   • medical electives and physicians on short-term locums
   • teachers of primary or secondary schools, or other teachers of small children
   • domestics
   • workers who give in-home care to children, the elderly and the disabled
   • day nursery employees and
   • other similar jobs

You will need to apply for change of conditions.

Some of my friends didn't do a medical exam, but don't have that condition on their work permit, does that mean they are allowed to work in health services?

Why they don't have a condition, could be that they did a medical before?

Just got approved today!

Date of application: December 18, 2020
Date approved: January 7, 2021

Approved for three years.

Just 21 days! I applied within Toronto.
