Visitor Visa (from India - outside of Canada) applicants of October or November 2020

Did anyone else noticed there are 2 types of 'Letter of Required Support' available on canada.ca website. There are couple differences between the 2.
first one: Request for Exemption for Compassionate Reasons. It has a box to provide the medical reason for support, location of required support etc.
2nd one: Request for Exemption on Compassionate Grounds. Has some changes in it, the text is different(more like paraphrasing), doesn't have a box to provide medical reason instead it has this option: To provide care for a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, temporary resident, protected person or a person registered as an Indian under the Indian Act who is residing in Canada and who I deem to have a medical reason as to why they require support.

Hi.. Has anyone received an update for visa?
I purchased the tickets (for my in-laws) for PHAC exception, for the 2nd week of Jan. I'm worried if I'll lose my money now, considering this is the Holiday season, and everyone will be on vacation.

I might need your help then too.. we applied on the same grounds and now cic has made a decision on the application we filed for visitor and they are asking for passport submission, now we do t know that for how long my mom will get the visa. We mentioned her itenary dates from Jan 6 to April 2.

Did you provided Biometric or you recieved passport request without Biometric by only providing PHAC approval ? Please respond as we are also in same situation and our Baby is due in Mid Feb. We need our mom to be here

1. Yes, my in-law gave biometrics in Dubai
2. Steps

1. Applied
2. completed Biometrics in DUBAI
3. Applied for PHAC approval (got approved in 1 day)
4. CIC asked for travel itinerary
5. After 2 days CIC approved and Sent single entry TRV visa/letter in CIC account (no need to send passport with PHAC process)

Note: As I mentioned earlier CIC is processing some TRV applications without Biometrics (Applicable only with PHAC process)

Thanks @sb0821 , i read your post in details and know that you gave biometric in dubai. I want to ask @Kaykay89 as he also got passport request so wanted to confirm if he gave biometric or it was done with PHAC approval only

I am looking to get date for Biometric for my parents but I came to know that there are quarantine restrictions placed in Abu dhabi for 2 weeks and surrounding areas, and there are no restrictions in Dubai right now but situation may change there too. Flights are also not operating. Is anyone aware about the rules ? ..I think if you are looking to book tickets then you must check quarantine restrictions first.

Got a letter today stating about the validity and length of each the biometric tests that were done earlier ... Hopefully, more updates soon.

Got the visa in letter form today. Only issue is that the visa is about 70 days, and not 90. I have to change the ticket for return date.

quick question please. did you also do biometrics in Dubai or you already had valid biometrics from any previous visas.. is it possible to share your timelines please ?

On CIC profile, it updated very same day within 10 minutes. But got the official validation letter on Dec 23rd.
