The application takes into account only the last 5 years for physical presence requirements from the date you sign it.
For me going 5 years back, my starting date for physical presence would be 2015-11-15. I was 'not' in Canada on that day - I was in the US. And the date I actually left Canada was couple of months before that 2015-09-27 (I had work in the US).
What should I put for 'Date left Canada' for my 'oldest absence row' entry for the 5 years under consideration for physical presence?
* If I put 2015-09-27, then that takes into consideration days which are beyond past 5 years, messing up the calculation (and we have to enter days count on the form by subtracting start, end dates for each 'absence' row)
* If I put 2015-11-15, then although the calculation looks correct in this case but that wasn't the 'actual' date I left Canada.
Hey guys.
Quick question.
I’m going to include some of my days from the beginning of that 5 year period when I was in Canada on a work permit. If the beginning of the 5 year period starts in the middle of that work permit, do I put the official date when my work permit started (7years ago) as the “from” date or the beginning of that 5 year period that the calculator shows automatically?
thanks

Physical days will determine within your 5 yrs eligibility period. You don't have to enter anything beyond that 5 yrs. Cause on the online physical you'll see which date range you'll have to enter.

Also, I had an implied status for two months after that work permit technically expired. Would than the end of my ”temporary worker” status be the date I received the refusal of my bridging work permit application? I left Canada before I received the refusal anyway
they said they couldn't find record of my days temporary visa days before pr so they send back originally i was may applicant received my app back in November first week
I have a question about point #9 b) on the citizenship application. They are asking about any temporary resident status. I had a work permit that was about to end in 2016 but before it ended I applied for bridging open work permi. The bridging permit was refused (long story) but on the refusal letter is states that my temporary resident status ends the date I received the refusal letter which was 2 months after my original work permit ended.
Which end date should I put in the question 9? The end date from my work permit or the date of the bridging work permit refusal which was 2 months later?
Thanks

My wife recently applied for citizenship. There was a question whether she filed taxes in the last 5 years. She did for 2017, 2018 and 2019 and she marked as yes for both required to file and taxes filed. This was done with help from CRA. However did she also have to mention 2016 and 2015. She immigrated to Canada in August of 2017. Was never in Canada before that. So she only mentioned those 3 years.
