U can get temporary file number by only calling them . Through webform it’s not helpful.

Did anyone tried to call cic and obtain temporary file number? Anyone? Temporary file number starts with XEP123455.

I called them about the PCC submission as I didn’t send PCC with application. They then said they have a temporary file no. for my application staring with XEP. My AR is June 11, 2020

What does temp file number do? Does temp number mean your application is opened and start processing? I don't know what temp number can do.

Did you tried to link application online on gc key with removing number X from file number? Some people can link like that remove x and then try to link it .

Canada announced today future plans for new paths to PR for students and temporary workers.
Also new pathways for Hong Kong residents to PR and citizenship.

It's frustrating that they keep talking about the deficit of PRs this year, all new pathways to immigration they are planning for while our processing timelines are still 21 months and going up potentially :/

2. I have not submitted by PCC with the application as it was not available, now I have received it, can I send it via webform or I have to post them? I do not have file number as of now, still waiting for AOR. AR July 8th.
Please help.

I will suggest wait for AOR at the same time or later, they will ask for Additional document/Information if they required.
Just be ready for explanation for sibling part, they might ask you for the same.

Hi guys, I thought it would be helpful to share my timeline regardless work permit/AOR.


Both me and my husband were OWP holders, both expired in April 2020. I decided to risk and extend our permits as BOWP WITHOUT AOR, I didn’t want to be tied to my employer any longer despite receiving a Work Permit Support Letter along with my nomination.

Dates:

March 2020 - BOWP application submitted WITHOUT AOR

April 2020 - both permits expired, implied status

October 2020 - AOR received and submitted through webform to update our BOWP applications

November 2020 - BOWP approved, valid for 12 months



AINP inland - No BIL yet

AR March 11

AOR Oct 21

PAL Oct 28



Things to take in consideration:

- My AINP nomination has NO restrictions neither my employers name on it, it is crucial for BOWP approval

- They probably put our BOWP on hold until I provided the AOR. I am not sure if that ONLY happened because of the pandemic or if they would do it in normal circumstances. 8 months waiting.

- I wrote a Letter of Explanation stating that I would provide my AOR through webform as soon as it becomes available along with my application

- I have 11 months left on my PR timeline so if things work out right, I won’t need another extension.

I haven’t seen people in the same situation as we were, it seemed like we were part of the few that were frustrated about not getting AOR in time considering we didn’t have a valid permit and spare time to wait. It worked out and I hope it can help others in the same situation. Cheers!

My paper based PR application was delivered to IRCC on 10th August. Still waiting for AOR.
I also submitted my Biometrics and Background check document with my application package.
Will IRCC again ask for my Biometrics?
