When I submitted my EE application, I was required to pay 2 biometrics fees. There is me and my non-accompanying spouse who are over 18 years old.
Today I received a biometrics instruction letter but it has only my name and details on it.
If anyone had to go through this procedure, does a non-accompanying spouse need to do biometrics and if so, will the letter with the principal applicant details only be sufficient for this?

No, your spouse won't need biometrics. In fact, if you were charged a family biometrics fee at the time of submission, you should contact IRCC and they will process a refund.
I was charged a family fee, then I got biometrics request letter for myself only. I contacted IRCC and were told that non-accompanying family members don't have to go through biometrics and the family fee was wrongly charged. After 2 weeks I got refund.

Thanks buddy ! One last doubt ( might be silly but just thought of asking). The VFS will send IRCC the biometric directly ? we dont need to upload anything ?
and we will just carry the appointment letter and BIL on the appoitment day?

Yeah, you just need a Biometrics Request Letter for the appointment. They will took your photo and fingerprints, and then they will send this info to the IRCC. You don't need to anything

You can call CIC and ask them directly but if the letter you received includes only your name, then only you can use it for biometrics. Were you charged the family biometrics fee?
I would call CIC as they can give you an official answer
