Hi all,
When I submitted my EE application, I was required to pay 2 biometrics fees. There is me and my non-accompanying spouse who are over 18 years old.
Today I received a biometrics instruction letter but it has only my name and details on it.
If anyone had to go through this procedure, does a non-accompanying spouse need to do biometrics and if so, will the letter with the principal applicant details only be sufficient for this?
If you paid for two people, I'm assuming they are expecting both of you to complete the biometrics.

I just got off the phone with IRCC, they said I shouldn't have been charged $170 because my family is not accompanying me. They said that biometrics requirement is for me only and that they will investigate why the overcharge happened.
I will ask the same question at the USCIS center as well
This will be good to know for others in your situation. When was your AOR if I may ask?

Sure, AOR was on November 11th, 2018
Medicals Passed and Biometrics request received on December 12th. 2018
So in case someone has a question similar to mine, I hope my experience will be helpful:
If you have a family but applied alone and your family members are mentioned as non-accompanying, they do not need to do Biometrics.
You will receive a Biometrics Request Letter for you only and your spouse or kids won't be able to perform biometrics, using your letter.
In case this situation applies to you but you paid a Family Biometrics Fee (CAD 170) instead of an Individual (CAD 85), call CIC and speak to an agent there as you should have been charged an 85 dollar fee.
I applied from the US and I did Biometrics in a USCIS Application Support Center. It took 1 day from the date of Biometrics submission for CIC to obtain the results and update my application.
Hi
I have applied online for TRV along with my wife and visa fees plus biometric fees automatically generated $285 by CIC at the time of application submission but now I have received biometric instructions letter only with mine name my spouse name not mention in this letter, please suggest me what I can do next. Thanks

Hello,
I am in the same boat as you are. Did you get your issue resolved? If so how? I am inquiring for my parents who applied as a family online, were charged $285 and only my dad received his biometrics instruction letter.

Hi yes, they realized their mistake and sent a message within 2 days asking for the additional biometrics fees which I then paid and had to upload the receipt online.
