Yes, as Escoblades says, exactly. There are many on the forum (and elsewhere) who have gotten their ppr or direct copr much before that. Or much after that. The progress bar is unfortunately just a visual representation of the math—full 6 months timeline vs how much of that has passed. Pretty useless, but I like staring at it for some reason.
Good evening guys, i have a question.
So my file has been transferred to Cairo LVO, if i called IRCC, will they be able to give me status updates about my file or not ?
I think not. @joconstantine had this experience where they called IRCC but the agent told them that the updates cannot be obtained once the file moves out of Canada. I have seen others on other threads report the same.

My fiance has also submitted a separate application for PR. My question is what will be the best time for the process, to get married, so that we both get our PPRs in shortest time and land together.
Also, after marriage, will we have to withdraw one application and add both our names in one application? or we can keep processing both of our applications separately while being married at the same time?
I am sorry if this is not the right thread to ask this question, and if anybody can guide me to the right one. Thanks.

Each application is being processed differently right now. When you get married, one of you would have to add the other to their application...I don’t think you both can keep processing both applications separately at the same time while being married. Also, whether you add the spouse before PPR or after (before landing), it’s the same process. However, when you add spouse, it’s the PA of that application who gets reviewed for eligibility.

No you have to eitheir raise a webform or send an e-mail to the local visa office directly.
And besides does your background check appear as ‘in progress’ or ‘we are processing’?

yes it seems that my file will be stuck in Sydney, NS because yesterday when I called the agent confirmed that my file is in Canada and hasn't been sent to Cairo for processing.
