Yes we were. But biometric details that were sent to us was not updated in the portal. I guess all their systems aren't in sync which is why biometric was sent before AOR and why our details aren't updated on the portal yet.

Yeah I agree that’s quite possible but it’s good atleast they have started working at a good speed and updating us now. Can you pls tell Biometrics email was sent to sponsor or the PA’s email ?
any update on VAC centres for biometrics? Are they open ?

It was sent to the PA's email. Also, looked into the VACs and they're still closed in India for biometric. As of October 28 they started a new program called two way package delivery to help facilitate passport stamping for candidates with passport request. I assume as more people get AORs and Biometric request, they'll make arrangements for that in their next phase of resuming operations.
My biggest concern currently is PCC validity. It is valid for six months and mine already expired by September. I guess this worry would be applicable to almost everyone. I hope they consider it.

Congratulations on your biometrics request. I have a question regarding PCC validity. Do you know how long is Indian PCC valid for? Is it 3 months or 6 months?

We received AOR1 20 minutes back. It was sent to the sponsor's email. ECAS and GCKey continue to only show file received date and nothing else.
.
Dear <sponsor name>,
This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2020/07/02 on behalf of the following member(s):
<principle applicant name>
Hi All, I have called CIC this morning and got the temporary file number.
Application Type: Outland
Application sent to: Sydney, NS
Application received: Jul 9, 2020
Application opened by CIC on: September 23, 2020
Status of my application : Not known
Though I cannot do anything with the temporary file number, it gives me some relief that IRCC has my file atleast.
Fingers crossed and waiting for the next set of updates.
P.S.
To those of you curious to know the details to contact CIC, call the number +1 888 242 2100 (when given options to select follow the sequence 2-1-1-0. Wait for the agent to pickup the call and start to ask your queries. )
After seeing that April is filling up and May started processing I would renege my opinion of January miracle and say its a real possibility...November for July?? I doubt.
Hi Phalos. I certainly hope that your doubts are not turned into reality. I have just seen on the tracker that a July application has received AOR. With that comes hope that we might actually see some positive outcomes before the end of the year. When all else is lost Hope springs eternal.
