June 2020 - Citizenship Application

Hi Melito, I checked ECAS status, it's second application, delivered on 1st September 2020, marked as Urgent Processing. As i mentioned my first application i did not mark as an Urgent on the envelope. As per Advise by the Call center, second application was sent, indicated as Urgent. Finally they accept second one.

I wonder without conducting the citizenship test how IRCC will process urgent applications...

They are full of mysteries, this situation is like wacthing a spy movie. If really covid 19 was the problem, they should have resumed citizenship tests in Atlantic Canada first not Vancouver. Yeah we'll see what will be the next surprise concerning urgent processing.

But how come you qualify for urgent? What is the reason out of the 3 mentioned on the website?

My corrected application is delivered today to CIC so now waiting game starts again

Just a question, What if application is returned by cic and applicant again sent corrected file with confirmed delivery . Can this be tagged with priority as applicant has already waited for so long earlier or it would still be wait game. As an example, June application was returned in September after 3-4 months and it was sent/delivered in September. Can CIC consider returned application in June or it would be considered in September and won't be processed until they are opening September applications.

I hope none of application is returned back.

We can only guess that it is considered as a new app.

This means they are already going through June applications so July is not far away.

Definitely. In fact, another applicant from July 2020 received a returned application due to language proof a few days ago. So they're already going through July applications too.

I guess there's a little delay between when they open and review applications and when they send AOR. It's probably like an assembly line. Applications that are complete probably move to another pile awaiting AOR while incomplete ones are sent back.

Why did they return it?

Hi I am not sure I forgot to check on the check box on the document checklists for the fee payments. But I have receipt payments M$730 ($630 for me + $100 for my child) attached for both applications.
Which check box, you forgot to check? In document check lists or in the application? Thanks and let me know.

Was the application returned to you through Canada Post? Or did CIC use their own postal services? Thank you!
