IRCC aims to accelerate, prioritize and finalize approximately 6,000 spousal applications each month from October until December 2020. Combined with processing to date, this rate will lead to about 49,000 decisions by the end of this year.
Also I like to know if there are going to approve 6000 application so how many application they were approving before covid. Isn't Canada recently increase immigration to 450k application per year.
We understand that the last few months have not been easy for those who are far from their loved ones in these difficult times. This is why we are accelerating the approval of spousal applications as much as possible. Our government will continue to find new ways to keep families together.”
– The Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, P.C., M.P., Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship

Ameen.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has increased the number of decision makers on spousal applications in Canada by 66%, to process spousal applications more quickly and reduce couples’ wait times.
IRCC is leveraging new technology in a pilot to digitize paper applications so they can be processed more efficiently by IRCC employees working remotely and at various worksites. In addition to implementing facilitative biometrics measures, IRCC will be piloting, in the upcoming weeks, technology to conduct interviews with applicants remotely, in adherence with public health protocols.
With these initiatives, IRCC aims to accelerate, prioritize and finalize approximately 6,000 spousal applications each month from October until December 2020. Combined with processing to date, this rate will lead to about 49,000 decisions by the end of this year.

its been 11 months since LVO started working on my file and they didn't ask me for ADR and after reading whatever your shared i am happy that they didn't ask for ADR but i am worried at the same time why are they taking ages. i can wait but i pray that LVO keep working on our files... bro do you think LVO will be closed because of second lockdown? i am so stressed since i have heard news of increasing covid cases there
Adr isnt a obvious requirmnt in all files most ADR are pcc/SCH A/communication proofs/educational documents if a applicnt dont get ADR this doesnt means his/her app got some issues i dnt hv the exact figurs but half of the applicnts dnt receive ADR which is a good stuff
I m march 2019 applicnt and got my aor2 & ADR on jan 06 and according to my gcms notes my BFD was 29 march 2020 nd immgration process was on partial halt since 18 march till aug 3rd onwards i hvnt recived anything in regards my app soo this is totally accptbl due to covid and LVO has a bad repo in processing files on time due to country load on single office. LVO is operational until now world has managed with working along covid nd this is the new norm nd soo has the canadian immgration has to develope ways to countr the backlog nd delays. Few announcment are already done yesterday hope things will settle dwn i.a
