Same, looks like server is down. This whole process is bleeding me dry and attending the online orientation is like rubbing a salt in my wound. This really sucks
Hello,
While the COVID-19 pandemic has presented a number of challenges world-wide, Canada’s whole-of-government approach is aimed at protecting the health of Canadians while minimizing the economic and social impact of restrictions. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has implemented a temporary two-stage process to provide an update to international students who have not yet been able to provide all the required documents or information needed to have their application fully assessed in time for the fall semester.
You are receiving this notification as an officer has reviewed the information and documents you provided to support your study permit application. Based on this preliminary eligibility assessment, your application has advanced to the next stage of processing.
Additional information and documentation may be required in order to continue processing your application. If we previously requested that you complete biometrics and/or a medical examination and submit a police certificate, please do so as soon as you are able to. If you have not received a request from us for additional information or documents, please await further instructions.
Once we have received all requested information and documents, we will complete our assessment of your application and we will inform you of the final decision (approved or refused) made on your application.
While you await a final decision on your application you may commence your studies online.
If you are a representative who has received this notification, please ensure to advise your client(s) of this important information.
Thank you,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
The above is the letter I received. I am not entirely convinced this is an AIP.
They have extreme demand exempt (EDE) medical test usually done for SP applications and it is a fairly basic health check. Surprisingly, they asked me for a very thorough Non EDE test which involves lot more tests and it is usually asked for in PR applications. However, i checked with few other students and they all said it is Non EDE for them. Only one panel doctor in Abu Dhabi and they also confirmed due to current situation, all medical exams are Non EDE.
Regarding your other queries I did this test on 21st and still awaiting results (4 working days needed). The update was only in the portal and I didn't receive the email which I usually get when there is an update.
Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the explanation...I did upfront medical exam before COVID, that is why I didn't know what this type means.
I believe you are good to go . This letter you posted earlier was given to all students who received AIP. So no need to worry and enjoy your online classes.
Hi, Congratulations, my timeline is almost same, I applied on 25th of June.
But I didn't went for Medical...... as it is common perception that it is not required from AD.
Did you submitted medical before this update from IRCC?

I didn't do upfront medical as my initial application status showed Medical exam not required. However, I got the advise on 21st to proceed for Immigration Medical Exam and got that completed on 22nd. It will take another few days to get the test results uploaded to IRCC, nevertheless, today I got the letter which I believe is the AIP.
