Hi,

I am the sponsor who lives in Canada and the applicant lives in Sri Lanka.
When we contacted CIC before, they said security verifications not yet initiated for our application.
The current status of our application is queue for review by officer. What does this mean?
We have finished most steps of the sponsor application and our background check is in process.

So there will be two officer working on your file in Colombo. Primary and lead officer. Once the primary officer finished the assessment he will then pass the case to lead officer. He will finalise your application.

We have sent the Additional Documents in November 2019. We have not heard anything since then from the Colombo Visa office. Now due to Corona, they have said they are not finalizing any PR applications.

Not necessarily. Sometimes they might complete it. But they won't update it until a final decision is made.

They had asked us to submit documents from London, as my husband had stayed in London before.

They asked for reason why you stayed in London and police report. We sent it and now waiting for reply.

Wow then its been more than a year. I am surprised they asked you additional documents after sending Pre-arrival letter.

Just two officers for all? no wonder why it takes so long to do background check.
