My "due date" for security is also 1 year after the AOR date. But the IRCC agent on my last call clearly told me "it's useless".

No, it not compulsory that it should take 6 months, I have seen some comments where, sometimes Security takes only couple of weeks.... and in critical Case it takes more time... that varies from Applicant to applicant...!

Agreed with you. I have seen in EE that they even don't know their security has started before it finishes.

I'm not really sure but as i heard that is checked by third party most likely interpol. And i think they check how one could be hazardous to canada. But as i said im not 100% sure.
