My work permit is getting expire in next few months. I have applied my PR through NSNP paper base under skilled category. My work permit is closed employer restricted. So do I need to extend my work permit or I can work under applied status until decision is made ?
i have Now, when i got nomination i didn't qualify for EE due to One year of experience. i'm just thinking because There are other situations like Language test, Biometrics etc, Which may cause delays now days.
If I were you, I would try EE as well, since you have enough points like you said. Book your language test now. The offices for biometrics could open up anytime.

I just received my work permit extension yesterday. It is employer specific and in the conditions, it says "must leave Canada by date of expiry". Does it say the same in your work permit as well?

You can not work on applied status of Permanent residence,The reason BOWP was started for this purpose.
Please extend your WP before it expires otherwise it will be problem .

You need to apply for work permit extension! otherwise, when your work permit gets expired, the province may withdraw the nomination and they'll reject your PR application (also you're not allowed to work if your work permit is expired and you haven't applied for extension). But if you've applied for an extension and you're waiting to hear back, then it doesn't matter if your initial work permit is expired/expiring.
Also, keep in mind that you can not apply for bridge open work permit if your nomination is employer restricted. You have to apply for employer restricted work permit under LMIA exemption category (you need to provide the province's work permit support letter as well)
I did my biometrics in October last year when I first applied for my work permit extension which was refused because my employer did not pay the employer compliance fee. When I reapplied in May, they did not ask for it again since it is still valid.
