There are no kitchens in hotels, are Canada authorites expecting me to order cooked food every day? I also looked into AirBnb - there are a couple of units with kitchen, but most of the postings are with shared kitchen (I don't want to expose anybody to be infected by me due to using common ammenities)
You can't book with airbnb unless it is a separate unit with kitchen. I have already tried it and was denied several times. The host will not accept you in a unit where you have to use common spaces like kitchen and bathroom.
An alternative I was suggested was to go for homestay where you have your own private bathroom. The family you are staying with will offer you 3 cooked meals a day This will come a lot cheaper than hotels

Everyone MUST as always declare ALL food brought into Canada without exception and CBSA will decide if can be brought in or not. That includes ready to eat and 14 days of ready to eat in checked luggage really ??
By all means try something like homestay but being realistic would anyone take in someone from a foreign country knowing that the stay was to be in quanrantine ?
To repeat unless someone has support already in the country it really is not a good time to rush to the country at least until the quarantine order has been rescinded
From what I was suggested many international students prefer homestay. Basically you will be staying with a local family. They will offer you 3 cooked meals every day on pre-arranged basis. Since you can't open a bank account in self isolation, just pay the family for essential things like phone sim card etc and they will get it delivered to their address. Sometimes they even offer airport pick up services. This is considered a lot cheaper and more reliable than a hotel since the family will help you adjust to your new life in Canada.
Some families will be even happy to provide you with a landlord reference when you move out which will help you immensely in your search for next accommodation. However, everything depends on the family, you just need to discuss with them about your situation and requirements and see if they're open to accepting you into their homes

We are 1having our COPR expiry date as 30th Apeil and we cannot travel due to current travel restrictions, does this mean we will loose our PR status?I submitted multiple web forms, but all I got as a response is place a request once COPR expires whereas I need to know the consequences / procedures now before the expiry
