My spouse got her work permit visa application (inter company transfer) approved recently. I will be also applying for spousal open work permit. After my open work permit gets approved. If incase I get a job offer earlier before my spouse travel to Canada , can I eligible to travel Canada with my open work permit (or) I need to wait and travel along with my spouse ? Kindly answer my query. Thanks for your support .
you should ideally travel together. But its extremely rare for you to get a job in Canada before actually being here - unless you are sponsored by an existing employer

Yes my existing employer is sponsoring me. But they are asking me to apply the visa on my own as open work permit

Why can’t you wife travel to Canada with you?

They aren’t actually sponsoring you if you have to get an OWP.

Yeah correct. But due to official reasons, they took this decision.
Why can’t you wife travel to Canada with you?
Because of her assignment getting delayed, she can travel only on later dates.
But, i might get a job offer from my current employer with joining date before that.

If your OWP is based on her study permit, she needs to come to Canada first or with you.

You are free to work for other employers if the job opportunity is no longer available at your employer when your wife is finally transferred to Canada.

I also decided the same. Thanks.
Hi, I got my PPR request, updated my marriage. Haven't heard from IRCC about documents request. How long would it take for IRCC to request additional documents? MEANWHILE, can I apply for my wife's open work permit? Answer needed immediately, please.
Thank you

Your wife will likely be added to your PR Application before you get SOWP. What is your current status?

Thank you for your answer. I am currently on study permit. My PR file is being processed in CIO office - canada currently, but I am now sure how long it would take for IRCC to request documents, As per their last email on Feb 3rd, it was written to wait. Any idea?
Thank you
