Is it possible to go directly to Ottawa and do amendment to study permit?

I am inquiring this for a new student . On his study permit the CBSA officer put field of study which is COMPUTER/IT and the institution any designated learning institution.
Now this student wants to change the program. The new program is related to medical field and not the computer .
Can this student change the program and study on same study permit or does need to apply for new study permit . Since DLI is going to be same just the program changing .
Any info will be helpful

Post secondary study permits dont need to be changed when changing programs or schools so nothing is required.

I have a condition on my study permit too which states I cant work in school and healthcare.Now I find a care job and am wondering if it falls into the category of healthcare. I dont know if I will be in trouble with immigration if I accept the job.Does immigration trace this things because I will be applying for extension next year and I dont know if it will have effect. Hello, I also sent mine around January 29th. May I know if you've already received your amended permit and how long you waited to receive it?? I just received my biometric email today.

yes. weird right? I've gotten my biometrics last year but i received a confirmation email about my biometrics, stating that it's still valid for 10 more years. i guess they just checked and confirmed.

In 2017 when i came in canada i also got a sp without the condition related to work on or off campus. Because of which i was not able to get a SIN. After that somebody told me that i need to apply a new application to amend the condition and pay the fee. After 1.5 month i got my new sp stating the condition related to work on or off campus on it.

As per my experience u should get the amendment in condition. Because sometimes they reject because of these silly mistakes. So its better to get everything done.
