Hi guys, I have applied for PGWP extension (I got my initial PGWP for less than 3 years due to expiry date of my Passport). I have sent my application through mail around a month ago, now I'm wondering if there is any way to check if IRCC has received my application or not? can someone help me?

Check your courier if they've delivered it to the mail room of IRCC and if it has been marked as received (with signature) already. I also did this process, they've received it the following day then I called CIC every 2 weeks for 2 months until I got my application number.

Thanks for your response, my courier shows that it had been delivered. So does that mean for paper applications, after some time we receive an application number? Then after that the work permit?

You're welcome. Up to you if you would like to call them and get the application number, but it's helpful if you're going to follow up an application or have additional documents since it is easier for them to track. Then approval of permit comes after that but depends if you're eligible or have complete documents. Btw, take note of the date that they have received it in the mail room because that's the day your application starts then you can check the processing time for mail applications and follow up if it's over the duration.

does it mean that they are already working on my file? or this message was always there and I'm getting stressed in vain?

It was always there. The status will change to something like "reviewing application" before the final decision then will change to "refused/approved" status, but prior to final decision the officer will send you requests if you lack documents, payments, etc.

Two of my cousins applied in October. One got his approval.
Applied on - 4 Oct 2019
Approved on - 09 Jan 2020
Expires on - Oct 2022

I will put in an update when the second one receives it. He applied towards the end of the month.

Anybody has flagpole experience recently for PGWP?

I applied for PGWP 4 months back, it seems this would take longer than expected. I am planning to go to border to get PGWP. I heard from a friend, the IRCC issued a notice about flag-polling for PGWP, not sure what exactly that. If anybody visited border to get PGWP, please share your experience .
