I got an RCMP criminal record check for my dad. My parents were in Canada but they left to India before 6 months. I am not sure why RCMP check is now required. The request letter says I have 2 weeks to submit. I am not sure how my dad can get RCMP check from India in 2 weeks.

Can anyone please help what should we do.

My application shows on my cic- we are processing your background check and we will contact you if we require any information.

what would be the next step after background check also how many days does it take to clear background check. We completed medicals and pcc and still did not receive the bio request

Is it "RCMP criminal record check" or "RCMP fingerprinting"?
If it is the first, RCMP may be able to do for you even your parents are not here.
Call CIC in case it is the fingerprinting.

I am also in same situation. I got RCMP criminal record check for my mom who left Canada almost 5 months back. I called CIC yesterday and they said to submit a web form informing CIC that she is in India right now and CIC then will send BIO request letter instead of RCMP record.

I got ECAS in process and request for biometrics today Dec 16, 2019.

I have a question: Does a request for biometrics mean I'm approved as a sponsor?

Normally after biometric letter your ecas changes to Decision Made on Sponsorship application.
After few days you will get sponsorship approval letter.
Does the ecas say " We started processing your applications on Dec 16, 2019"?

When did you receive request for additional documents from CPC-M?
