You can apply for visa. If it is rejected then you you can ask them to expedite as you can't get a visa and getting passport is the only way to see your granny.

Hey man make sure you check ECAS status as I have been told by lot of people it would be updated online first and later after a week they'll send mail about it. Good Luck!

My test was on the same day as yours. DM next day. Still waiting for oath invite. I was told the oath would be Oct./Nov. It seems it slowed down recently. Just wondering if it is because we are not able to catch the federal election anyways. So.....
