Thanks, yes it is a spousal sponsorship. I am in Canada and the applicant is from Iran. Yes, we have been lucky so far, we got married last year though. we applied for a visitor visa first. The application went through background check, it was denied at the end due to family ties in Canada which makes sense. Maybe that background check helped to expedite the PR process, not sure though.

Quick question Amir: once we hand over the passport, photos and the hard copy of the email to the agency, and they will take care of the rest and will bring back the passport with the visa included. Did I get the process right, or there is something else we should be doing?

Yes, they will take care of the rest. All we need to do now is wating. By the way, you can follow the process online on VAC website using the tracking number they provide you after the submission of the passport.

VAC tracking is updated very late usually. Wait for the status on ECAS to change to "Approved". That would mean that the visa was issued and is on its way back.

Deoends where you are I guess, but I’m allowing 2 weeks ... call VAC every day after the 10th day.

I emailed VAC in Ankara today and asked them how long it takes for Iranians passports to get visa stamped in. The answer was 4-10 business days.
