Absolutely that a Good Idea !
Processing of PGP application shouldn't affect any other application at IRCC which in your case would be application for Visitor Visa.
One can surely apply for Visitor Visa & Super Visa while PGP application is in process and bring their Parents to Canada earlier.

Been linking for the past 2 weeks since ECAS showed application received until only now.

Yey, just able to link my application today. Looks like they are starting to work on June applications. It was first pending registration then changed to submitted status. but still no AOR.

True, if liberals don't win , the most easiest way to slow down the process is to reduce staffing... processing time will shoot up to 5+ years as in past..

1. RPRF FEE -IS IT not paid with FROM APPLICATION FEE already...
2. Passport photocopy all pages
3.biometric - Done
4. PCC
5. Supplement information IMM 5562- why they need this
6.CV /RESUME - why they need this ...

I don't think is there any difference to our processing time, as CIC quote maximum time will be 24 months
It may affect 2020 applications i think
