I used the same method as shared earlier and here it is:
"Select Temporary Residence first, then work permit and extension.
Application details: UCI and family name. (Use principal applicant data) Applicant’s personal information: Place of birth. (Input what you wrote in the application form) Details of intended work in Canada: Open (initial application or extension). Current Country of residence: Canada. Current marital status: Married or whatever applies. Which situation applies to the applicant: Applied for permanent residence as a spouse or common-law partner in Canada.
If place of birth option does not work, try using passport info."

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while but have a question I thought I might be able to get answered here. I'm applying to sponsor my common-law partner who's from the UK but has been in Canada on the International Work Experience visa for the last 16 months or so. For reference, we're in Toronto, and here are our stats so far: Application Delivered: May 31st AOR: July 5th OWP Linked: September 6th
(Still waiting on OWP approval, but we're hoping it'll be soon!)
My question is this: we were planning on getting married in June 2020, and say as much in our application, but we're realizing that all the planning isn't for us, and we want to elope (probably in Niagara) sooner rather than later. Does anyone know if that would affect/harm our application? Obviously we applied as common-law partners, so would that mean having to change our status with CIC?

Me and my partner (now my husband) did this. We were planning to get married end of this year but ended up getting married a few weeks after we submitted our application lol. We updated it as soon as we got our marriage certificate and as soon as we got our AOR. So I don’t think it should be a problem
