For sponsoring a spouse, is it necessary to show that one is working? I am landing back in Canada after my marriage and i do not have a job. Can i still start the sponsorship process? Any financial documents required?

There is no minimum income to sponsor a spouse but you must not be on welfare or in bankruptcy.

Thank you for your suggestions and advices in advance.
My name is Zahir and I plan to get married next year .and I will put my file after marriage.
My wife is from Algeria and I have the Canadian passport.
My wife have a married sister in montreal and she have the long term visitor visa (10 years) from her sister .
So I am thinking to get married next January and send my sponsorship file and ask my wife to come to canada with her long visitor visa while waiting to proceed my sponsor application
My question if this is legal and don't affect my sponsor application.

There's no express way to get your PR sooner, you have to apply and wait like everyone else

Follow the Document Checklist which states a maximum of 10 pages.

As much as you think is good
I attached 300 pages that was an overkill but I had to because my situation was different
IRCC says you need to submit 10 pages from different times of the relationship

Our updated timeline as of today:

June 10 - Submitted Spouse Sponsorship application via Canadapost
June 13 - IRCC received the application (tracked via Canapost & with signature)
August 1 - My husband received AoR (has application # & UCI)

-Checked CAS tool - IN PROCESS for both Sponsorship & PR Application Status​

August 9 - I received Biometrics Instruction Letter thru email from IRCC

- Checked CAS tool - DECISION MADE for Sponsorship & IN PROCESS for PR Application Status​

August 12 - IRCC emailed my husband that he was eligible to sponsor
August 12 - IRCC emailed me the Medical Examination Instruction
August 13 - Biometrics Done!
August 16 - Medical Exam Done! (IOM Manila Health Center Makati)
August 25 - Medical Results have been received by IRCC and I passed the medical exam.
August 30 - Checked CAS tool - IRCC started processing Principal Applicant's application (Permanent Residence)
September 5 - Visa Stamping emailed to me

-Checked CAS tool - DECISION MADE for PR Application Status

My timeline is so much similar to yours. Iam sponsoring my husband and the status has been updated to Decision Made but we didnot get any email saying Visa Stamping. Any thoughts??

No. Children under 14 are exempted.
